“Pure Game is doing a great job helping kids stay on the right track!” say long-time Pure Game supporters Linda and Tod White.
The generous duo was first introduced to Pure Game six years ago when their friends at the Orange County Community Foundation introduced them to our organization. After hearing about our mission and supporting our vision, the pair decided to attend one of our program sessions and was amazed by what they were witnessing. For them, it was clear to see how effectively Pure Game founder, Tony Everett, and the Leadership Team worked with the kids participating in our programs. Right away, they both recognized that Tony “is so positive and so enthusiastic about the mission of Pure Game that it rubs off on each member of his staff and on the kids.” According to the White’s, after their first experience seeing the organization’s programs in action, “we’ve been supporting Pure Game ever since.” Linda and Tod White were and continue to be impressed with the curriculum taught by Pure Game and specifically emphasize the significance of how the organization “uses soccer to reinforce kids’ self-confidence, empathy, cooperation, sense of responsibility and commitment to set and achieve personal goals.” They especially appreciate the fact that Pure Game teaches the essential skills necessary for youth character development in ways that engage kids, make it fun and exciting, and allow them to utilize both their mind and body simultaneously while learning.
Since becoming connected with Pure Game in 2014, Linda and Tod White have continually supported the organization. Over the past six years, their efforts have opened the door for countless students to learn and grow by participating in our programs. Every year, the pair provides funding to support numerous schools by subsidizing the cost of implementing Pure Game, allowing more kids to become involved in the activities and lessons the organization offers. In fact, this year alone, their contributions specifically allowed more than 100 students to experience Pure Game! Furthermore, once schools transitioned to distance-learning, the White’s graciously stepped in to help even more. They offered funding to support the creation and growth of the Remote Recess Program, allowing Pure Game to remain connected to all of the students we serve, even though we could no longer hold our programs in person. Our school partners and students greatly appreciated this remote program, and it couldn’t have been this successful without the White’s support.
Once again, Linda and Tod White are rising to the occasion and offering even more support to Pure Game! On Wednesday, June 17th, Pure Game will be participating in the ImpACT Anaheim Giving Day to raise funds to support the growth of Pure Game and implementation of programs in more schools across the county. The fundraiser is only 24 hours long, and every single dollar counts! Pure Game has the goal of raising $10,000 with the hopes of exceeding that amount in order to allow more students to participate in the various programs the organization has to offer. In order to show their support, Linda and Tod have pledged a generous donation match for Pure Game on the ImpACT Anaheim Giving Day, agreeing to match all donations dollar for dollar up to $5,000. Their extensive support will no-doubt help Pure Game reach their goal, but support from those in the community is just as critical. Your support is needed now more than ever!
Linda and Tod White recognize the significance of the work Pure Game engages in and appreciate the organization’s commitment to serving youth in the community. Accordingly, the pair comments that “Pure Game has grown a lot in the past 6 years. It’s doing such a good job for so many kids; we’d like to see it grow even faster.” However, Pure Game can’t continue to grow without support from those like YOU! Linda and Tod are proud long-time supporters of Pure Game and are looking forward to continuing their support in the future. For now, regarding the ImpACT Anaheim Giving Day on Wednesday, June 17th, Linda and Tod White, self-labeled as Pure Game fans since 2014, “hope many others will join us in supporting Pure Game.”
