Pure Game, in partnership with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, kicked off its Eighth Annual Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership (GRIP) Camp on March 22. Over 100 students from at-risk neighborhoods were selected to participate in the camp.

The Athletic Enrichment Soccer Camp aims to strengthen the relationship between the community and law enforcement, engage in a positive environment during the break when gangs recruit, and address the mental health problems students are facing during this pandemic.

As part of the camp, students will have the opportunity to learn and virtually interact with Pure Game’s own Field Champion Joy Fawcett and players from the Orange County Soccer Club (OCSC). Additionally, the camp will feature guest speakers from the LA Times, US Soccer and the LA Sparks staff.

“I don’t have a best thing about coming. Everything about camp was the best thing that ever happened this year for me,” said a camp participant.
