Pure Game News

The girls from Santa Ana Pure Game programs who won the trip to England leave on Sunday. I have been talking with them through the week, and they are super excited. Here is their itinerary, I can't say I'm not a little jealous, they are going to have an incredible trip. There will be an update on their trip when they return.
I would like to be able to write this knowing you have all experienced the positive power of a father. Sadly I know that will not be the case. Some of you will know the negative power of a father, (for that I am sorry) some have a powerless father, some have none. What ever the situation you find yourselves in, know you are loved by our Heavenly Father. For you, life might be hard, you may have found yourself in some horrible situations and you may feel as if no one cares. I want to encourage you to see beyond that, your earthly father may have let you down, but you still matter, your life is crucially important.
On Friday, April 26th, two very lucky high school aged Pure Gamers will be awarded the prize of a lifetime. The British American Business Council Scholarship is raising money to send two children who participate in Pure Game on an all expenses paid two-week trip to a British Summer studies program in England.
It’s transformed behavior and attitudes among boys and girls in low-income Orange County communities, boys and girls exposed to gang recruitment, poor self-esteem, and weak role models.
My dream is one day to be surrounded by young men and women saying, “Thank you, because of you and Pure Game, my life is better.” Every day that I’m on the field leading play and talking to the girls and boys about good values and right decisions, I see positive change. A shy, unsure girl emerges out of her shell and gets into the game. An aggressive, self-centered boy starts to play with more consideration for others and their progress. In the longer term, a teen pregnancy is prevented; a gang fails to recruit an extra member.

Now, the Star-Bell Sneetches had bellies with stars.
The Plain-Belly Sneetches had none upon thars. Those stars weren’t so big. They were really so small.
You might think such a thing wouldn’t matter at all…

Equipping children for life takes patience, perseverance, and deliberate action.

In the chaos that is the game of soccer lightening speed decision-making is essential.
