Introducing PureGame's Interim CEO

As I step into the role of Interim CEO of PureGame, I bring with me a wealth of experience from various sectors, including education, for-profit, and non-profit. My background in teaching, coaching, management, and development has uniquely equipped me to contribute to PureGame's mission of transforming communities through sports. Over the last 25 years, my experiences, education, and employment have shaped my perspective and fueled my passion for making a difference in the world—which has been both fun and rewarding, as I love helping people of all ages find joy and success in life.

It's with great excitement and enthusiasm that I dive head-first into the role of leading PureGame into the future. PureGame's legacy of providing character education and mentorship to youth over the last 15 years is truly inspiring and provides an incredible platform. I am eager to build upon this foundation and lead PureGame into its next phase of expansion and impact. Together with the team, I am excited to see how we can grow our footprint and empower individuals to make a difference using sports as the vehicle. I believe that what we will be able to do as an organization will change the lives of the kids we work with, the families we support, and the schools and other non-profit organizations with whom we partner.

My commitment and passion for using sports as a tool for positive change extends beyond my role at PureGame. I'm an assistant surf coach at Pacifica HS and I volunteer with other organizations such as Miracles for Kids, Waves of Impact, and Christian Surfers. I also am a huge supporter of EverFree and its mission to end human trafficking. In the future, I envision our organization expanding its reach to serve diverse populations, including refugees, individuals experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse victims, and the disabled community. At my core, I have a deep passion for helping others and that is a huge reason why I'm so excited about being a part of PureGame.

I've been fortunate that my journey has taken me across the globe. I graduated from the University of Tennessee while having the opportunity to also study in Australia and Spain. I've been incredibly blessed to be able to live and work in Uganda, Spain, and South Africa, and dream of one day seeing PureGame expand its reach internationally. I now reside in Orange County, CA, and am grateful to have been married for 15 years to my incredibly supportive wife, Khara.

I look forward to contributing to PureGame's success and would love to connect with anyone who shares my passion for seeing sports transform lives. If you would like to learn more about how you can support PureGame please don't hesitate to reach out to me at jake@thepuregame.org
