
Presently, Eric Van Horn is the Chief Business Officer of Landmark Health, a Provider Organization that specializes in At-Home Complexivist Care. Over the course of 8 years, Landmark has grown to be the largest house call provider in the country, by July will be at risk for close to 275,000 complex and chronically ill patients in 22 states and 100+ communities.
Prior to Landmark, Eric was the Senior Vice President and General Manager of CareMore Health Plan, representing the companies' product-line growth, development and management, profitability, pharmacy and utilization management and network strategy. In his tenure, Eric grew the company 4X in membership and revenue and expanded the health plan from a 2 county, 1 product Plan to one in 5 states, 13 counties, and over 50 products. He was part of the executive team that sold the company to Anthem.
Before joining the CareMore team, Eric spent 15 years and held several executive roles at United Healthcare covering over 70 million customers and PacifiCare Health Systems, a fortune 200 company. The last position Eric held the position was Executive Director for the Southern California market with United Healthcare, with profit and loss accountability for the Commercial product lines.
In 2000, Eric took over the Network Contracting and Operations efforts of the Central Coast, and Southern California markets for PacifiCare as the Vice President of Network Management. Eric began his career in health care economics where he built financial forecasting and reporting tools and represented the company in the creation of the current reimbursement system managed by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). He received his BA in Quantitative Economics and Decision Sciences from the University of California, San Diego and an MBA in Operations from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Prior to spending the last 10 years as a Professor in the HCEMBA program at UCI, Eric was a Guest Lecturer for many years at the University of Southern California in the School of Public Health, is a member of the Health Care Financial Management Association, and advises for companies on growth strategies - specifically for living in the word of value-based care.
He is an avid soccer player, cyclist and volunteer soccer coach and referee.
